WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT ASPECTS OF OUR EYES THAT LETS US SEE:

The primary part of vision is our central vision. Central vision is the vision used when looking directly at an object face or when trying to read any print. It is the area of the eye which gives the most details of an object or faces for us to see.

Another part of our vision which is important is our peripheral vision. Peripheral vision is the vision around the outside of our eyes. It allows us to detect and worn of objects coming from the side, and to give a fuller picture of a scene. It does not have as much capability for seeing details as the central part of the eye. It is often referred to as the field of vision.

A different function of the eyes which is also important is our ability to have depth perception. Depth perception is the ability to tell the distance between us and an object such as a cup on a table or the edge of a surface.

One more aspect of seeing which helps us detect one thing from another is our contrast sensitivity. Contrast sensitivity is the eye’s ability to see things which are similar in color such as light tan against white, dark gray against black, or anything which is not saturated in color such as faded cloth and faded print on a menu.
